5 hair and make up tricks and treats
Halloween is the perfect time of year to go all out and try something new with your look. Whether you're trying a new make up look or want to go whacky with your hairstyle, we've put together a few hair and make up tips to help you achieve your spooktacular look ready to party away the weekend.
1. The key to looking deathly pale
The easiest way to avoid patchy or streaky face paint is by mixing it in with a foundation. Grab the lightest shade you can find, and buff it in. Leave the initial layer to dry and then apply a coat of white face paint on top. You can repeat this until you get the right level of death warmed up.
2. Frighteningly good hair
Do you need some serious volume to complete your look? The secret to larger-than-life hair is backcombing with intent. This can be achieved by sectioning your hair in 2 inch sections and building volume from the root. Start with small movements and get bigger. Hairspray will be your best friend with this look - start and finish with generous lashings of a strong hold hairspray.
3. Blood curdling lips
Keep that killer red lip or sumptuous royal blue pout fresh all night with one simple thing: Lipcote. Apply once and you can leave any worry of smudged lips or topping up at home. Instead, you can focus on more important things such as which cocktail will be next.
4. Terrifyingly useful 'tools'
Before you get stuck into your look, think about what you will need to achieve the Pinterest vision you’re striving to achieve. This might include an array of sponges, dotting tools or even a pair of fishnets. Not only will this minimize disappointment on the night but it will make the whole process more enjoyable.
5. Premeditate and murder that look!
By which of course we mean PRACTICE! One of the biggest mistakes you can make is leaving perfecting your look to the hour before the party. Dedicate some time during the week to finding out the tricks to getting the look to work for you. If you’re not sure where to start, hop onto YouTube and get searching. This was, you’re guaranteed to slay slay slay!
