Where to go on Bonfire Night in Brighton
Being so close to Halloween, Bonfire night sometimes gets overlooked, and can pass you by in a blur. A popular destination for a lot of Brightonians is Lewes Bonfire Night, however, with each year it becomes more and more crowded. This year, it's been made more difficult to get to with train cancellations.
With that in mind we've put together some alternative options for you to check out this Bonfire Night. So, if you're looking to avoid the crowds at Lewes or just want to do something different, we've got you covered.
Fireworks at the cricket ground returns for yet another year. Hosted by D&G, you can grab a ticket for a tenner and help support local charities whilst watching their awesome display. There's plenty of catering on site, so grab a hot chocolate and take advantage of all of the space on offer. This is one for all ages.
Brighton Racecourse has always been a popular venue for watching fireworks. Boasting the best firework display in the country, ticket sales for this event are also helping to raise money for the Brighton Lions charity and the great work they do in the city.
Want to venture a little outside of Brighton but don't want the hassle of Lewes Bonfire night? Worthing's Lantern Parade and Firework display is the one for you. There's free lantern making from 3.30pm, and street food and music going on until 10.30pm.
In Hove, there's fun for everyone with a firework display by Brightfire Pyrotechnics, 2015 silver medal winners at the British Firework Championship. Who knew there was such a thing?! Good news, this ones going ahead no matter what the weather!
Jump on a bus and head to Shoreham for a change this year. There'll be a samba procession, beach bonfire, fireworks, food and drink, music and much more. No need to buy a ticket for this event, just make a donation on the night.
There's something for everyone this Bonfire Night, let's just hope the rain clears up! If there's anywhere else you think we should add to the list, let us know in the comments.
