The Location

The location could not be more PERFECT! Hilton Cardiff is placed in the heart of Cardiff City, if you are there for work or want to tour Cardiff this hotel is the place to stay. It took me three minutes to get to Cardiff Castle, everywhere was a max 7-10 minute walk from all tourist places, and Uber’s are really easy to get in the area if you are wanting to go outside of Cardiff Central.

The Room

I stayed in a King Deluxe Castle View – a deluxe offering for one guest. It had a large king size bed with soft white sheets, with a soft suede headboard and a table-side on both sides of the bed with USB ports on both sides to charge devices. Much like any Hilton Hotels, the room was spacious with two comfy sofa chairs with a long window and added bonus of the most stunning view of the castle.

Bonus points here go to the placement of the charging point and the HD Smart TV and a wide selection of channels to choose from that were perfectly situated to watch in bed when I was winding down from a long day.

The bathroom included a toilet, sink, mirror, bath, and power shower, equipped with shampoo and body wash that my hair felt so soft after using.

The Experience

I was welcomed by lovely staff members who allowed me to leave my suitcase with them as they, unfortunately, couldn’t check me in early but told me places to explore whilst I waited. Check-in was very easy and I particularly adored the glass lift where I got to see the dining area and went up past the gym facilities. The lift was very clear on which floors had which facilities and I was lucky enough to have a room next to the lifts, so it wasn’t far to walk.

I visited Cardiff in September when the wind and rain decided to come out and I forgot just how cold it got. I was very grateful for the mass amount of heating settings I could get in the room making it feel that little bit cosier. I stayed for two nights and was unbelievably impressed with the cleanliness of the room when I came back from a day of meetings.

Accessibility

I noticed many of these bonus accessibility points during my stay but according to Hilton they have the following:

  • Accessible elevators

  • Accessible exercise facility

  • Accessible guest rooms with mobility features with entry or passage doors that provide 32” of clear width

  • Accessible hotel restaurant

  • Accessible meeting rooms

  • Accessible parking

  • Accessible public entrance

  • Accessible swimming pool

  • Accessible transportation with advance notice

  • Assistive listening devices for meetings upon request

  • Audible alarms

  • Audible alerts in elevators
